Dr. John Acosta has been in the dental profession since 2001 and loves what he does. It shows in the quality of work he provides and in his caring attitude toward each patient: treating everyone as an old friend or relative, easily making patients laugh, and making sure they are well-educated in the treatments required. This is why patients repeatedly come back to see him. Dr. Acosta is dedicated to all his patients and always tries his best to accommodate them by providing a flexible schedule to meet after hours and for emergencies. He is also Invisalign® certified, providing his patients with the orthodontic care and the beautiful smiles they deserve.

Born in Honolulu, HI, to a father who served in the U.S. Army, Dr. Acosta has had the opportunity to live in many parts of the world, including Guam, Germany, Arizona, and South Korea. His family finally decided to settle near Seattle, WA.

Dr. Acosta lived a majority of his life in Washington. He graduated high school from a small town called Spanaway and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is a die-hard Huskies fan and loves to follow most professional sports from the Northwest. He’ll support Bay Area teams, but not over his beloved Seattle teams.

Dr. Acosta decided to get his dental degree from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines. It was an eye-opening experience for him to spend time in the country his parents were born, and he received a lot of hands-on experience. He once heard a fellow dentist say that a dental degree gives you the license to continue learning, and he has followed that idea ever since.

DR. PERRY Allison

Dr. Allison Perry has been practicing dentistry in the Bay area for four years, and she has been in the field since high school. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Davis and went on to earn her dental degree from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. In her continuing education, Dr. Perry has studied sleep-related breathing disorders, orofacial myofunctional therapy, and Invisalign® fundamentals. What Dr. Perry enjoys most about working at Pacific Coast Dental is that her coworkers are warm and welcoming. The practice feels like a family, with the patients as part of the extended family. In her free time, Dr. Perry loves to travel and take hikes with her husband and high school sweetheart, Mariano. The couple has two Maine coon cats, Sparky and Indy, which they adopted from the Peninsula Humane Society.

Ann Marie Acosta, Office Manager

Ann Marie has been in the dental field for seven years. She received her bachelor’s degree in managerial economics from the University of California Davis. She has also completed infection control training and is X-ray and CPR certified. In addition, she takes continuing education classes focusing on business and management.

What Ann Marie loves most about working at Pacific Coast Dental is the opportunity to build genuine relationships with patients. She also loves the people she works with, how caring and supportive they are and the shared passion they all have to provide better health for patients.

In her free time, Ann Marie enjoys spending time with her children. She loves being a mom and doesn’t want to miss out on any part of their childhood. She also enjoys playing volleyball, writing, dancing, playing piano, and taking trips to new places.

Francis, Patient Care Coordinator

Scheduling & Insurance Specialist

Francis has been in the dental field for six years. She graduated from City College of San Francisco. She is CPR certified and continues to take classes in dentistry.

Francis was originally a patient of Pacific Coast Dental before she started working here. Francis was recommended for the job when a friend she had previously worked with relocated and recommended her for the position. What Francis likes most about working for Pacific Dental is how her co workers treat each other and their patients like family.

In her free time, Francis enjoys doing Hot Hula and Zumba. To relax, she also enjoys reading.

Jim Terry, Dental Hygienist

Jim has been in the dental field for 14 years. He graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in business and dental hygiene. He is also a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association.

What Jim enjoys most about working at Pacific Coast Dental is that everyone on the staff makes the interests and needs of their patients their top priority. He cherishes the relationships he builds with his patients and teammates.

Since he grew up in Eastern Idaho near Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Park, Jim developed a passion for hiking. He also enjoys photography, piloting his own plane, and fly-fishing.

Desiree-Erin Acosta, Dental Assistant

Desiree has been in the dental field for four years. Before joining the dental field, she was a nurse. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Pines City Colleges in Baguio City, Philippines. She has also completed infection control training and is X-ray and CPR certified. In addition, she takes continuing education classes.

What Desiree loves most about working at Pacific Coast Dental is that it feels like a home away from home. She enjoys the different roles she plays in the office, as it keeps her on her toes.

In her free time, Desiree enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She is also part of the young adults church group.

” Hands down that beat dentist I have every been to! It’s personal for everyone in the office. They genuinely care about every patient that comes through their door. They do what’s best for the patient and educate you on ALL the options. Everyone has a great sense of humor. Toys and computers for the kids, another plus! ”

” always the best, I had painful tooth, ear and nerve pain. the crew at Pacifica Coast Dental made me a priority, took me in at 5:45pm for x-rays, consultation, referrals and made sure I was ok. How’s that for service, care and well being? Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Acosta and his family and workers, which are family and employees too! ”

Been going to Pacific Coast Dental for almost 3 years now and I will continue to for as long as I can. Going there feels like being cared for by family. Great service, recommendations that don’t feel like i’m being gouged for money, and a personal focus on dental health and long term maintenance to prevent extra cleanings and service.

Best dental service I have ever experienced.

He regularly takes continuing education classes to improve his knowledge, and he goes above and beyond by taking two to three times the required amount needed, in order to provide his patients with the latest technologies, materials, and techniques. This allows him to give all his patients a high standard of dental care, which he believes they all deserve. After finishing college, Dr. Acosta decided to make a big move and try life in California. He packed his little two-seater car with everything he owned and drove the 16-hour drive from Seattle to San Francisco. It’s been 14 years since that move, and he now calls the city of Pacifica his home. The Bay Area is by far the best place he’s lived, especially because he met his wife here. Dr. Acosta is happily married to his wife, Ann Marie, whom he met through a church social group. They have two sons: Soren Quinn, who is now a fun-loving 8-year old, and Tyler, who is an energetic 5-year old. John loves being a dentist, and aside from being a sports fanatic, he is also a tech and science geek. You’ll be amazed at how much knowledge he keeps in that brain of his.As dedicated as Dr. Acosta is to his profession, he mostly loves being with his family when he is not in the dental office. You will often find the Acosta family walking, biking, or hiking the beaches of Pacifica. John also enjoys snowboarding, playing basketball, volleyball, and golf. Sometimes you might even see Dr. Acosta surfing the waves at Linda Mar Beach.

One Day Crown

No temporary crown. No second visit. No goo in your mouth. The CEREC one-visit crown machine helps our highly trained assistants create a restoration for your tooth. The 3D software takes the digital picture and converts it into a 3-dimensional virtual model on the computer screen. Your Dentist then uses dental expertise to design the restoration using the 3D computer program. Within a few minutes, we click a button, and the restoration design data is sent to a separate milling machine in the office.

A ceramic block that matches your tooth shade is placed in the milling machine. About 10 – 20 minutes later, your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready to bond in place. Finally, your Dentist tries the restoration in your mouth to ensure proper fit and bite. The restoration is then polished and bonded to the prepared tooth. Your tooth is restored with no “temporary” or return trip necessary. All of this is done in a single appointment!

Invisalign Clear Braces

If you aren’t satisfied with your teeth but the thought of wearing braces has stopped you from making a change, Invisalign is perfect for you! Invisalign uses clear, plastic alignment trays to gradually move your teeth into their prescribed position. The trays are practically “invisible”, comfortable, and removable during meals. You will get a new set of custom-made trays approximately every two weeks during treatment. You will end up with the beautiful smile you desire without the hassle of a mouthful of metal!

Invisalign is a comfortable alternative to braces. Like braces, you will gradually have your teeth adjusted through gently applied pressure, but unlike braces, you will not have to give up popcorn, candy, gum, or any of your favorite foods! With Invisalign, you wear clear, customized appliances called aligners. The aligners are almost undetectable and can be popped in and out easily, virtually eliminating any interference to your daily life. Every few weeks, you will receive a new set of aligners that will move your teeth ever so slightly, until at the end of treatment, your teeth will be exactly where they should be.

Invisalign subtly and gently straightens your teeth using aligner trays made of smooth, comfortable, BPAfree clear plastic. There are no metals or other materials used with Invisalign. Pop a tray onto your teeth and it’s virtually invisible. Your orthodontist will use xrays and impressions to create a 3D image of your teeth and to configure your aligner trays accordingly. Receive a newly designed tray every two weeks until your treatment is done.

No matter how well you take care of your teeth, you may end up needing one of our restorative treatments. Whether it’s because of a traumatic injury or dental disease, we are here to help restore the beauty and function of your teeth! Our restorative treatments include fillings, caps, dentures, bridges, implants, root canal therapy and more. At Pacific Coast Dental, you can feel confident that your smile will look and feel as good as ever!
